The project goes into high schools to teach students about healthy relationships, personal finances, and how to get and keep jobs. Undergraduates work as assistant-teachers and help collect and analyze data. The Champaign Area Relationship Education for Youth (CARE4U) Research Team, supervised by Dr. Luke Russell and Dr. Dan Lannin, currently has openings for undergraduate research assistants who are interested in working with at-risk adolescents in Champaign County. Undergraduates have an opportunity to make a difference and receive excellent training.

In particular, students will have the opportunities to:

  • collect survey and focus group data from youth
  • interact with at-risk in a group setting
  • present research at the school, state, and national level
  • learn about grad school and career options
